The H/B Committee runs weekend trips to Harvard Cabin, a rustic yet comfortable lodging facility near Pinkham Notch, NH. The trips run on the second weekend of the given month. Volunteer leaders running the trips offer both beginner and intermediate day hikes in the area. Because of its close proximity to the White Mountain National Forest, the cabin makes an ideal & inexpensive basecamp for day hikes into the Presidential Range, the Carter-Moriah Range, and the northern portions of the WMNF.

Harvard Cabin is a heated, two-story facility with electricity throughout. The first floor has large, fully-equipped kitchen, including running water, dishes and silverware, pots and pans, coffee maker, microwave, cooking griddle, and a NEW stove and refrigerator in 2008. For most trips, the leaders purchase the food and the group prepares meals together, gathering in the large dining room for eating and socializing before and after teh hikes of the day. The upstairs loft is a bare hardwood floor which sleeps 22 people, so bring an air mattress and sleeping bag! For those who would rather sleep outside, the front and back yards can accommodate for several tent. The 2-seater outhouse is located about 20 yards behind the cabin.

Harvard Cabin weekends are run on a self-service basis, so all participants help with food prep and cleanup. A typical trip includes 2 nights stay, Fri-Sun, with several day hikes offered on both days. Included with the $60/pp cost are Saturday and Sunday breakfasts, a Saturday "happy hour" and Saturday dinner (please bring your own trail lunches).
